At Perpetual Beauty and Wellness, we are dedicated to helping men of all ages overcome obstacles to achieving and maintaining good health.
We pride ourselves in not only being skilled in the management of male sexual problems such as Erectile Dysfunction, Premature Ejaculation, and Low Sex Drive, but we are sensitive to the impact these can have on a man’s self esteem and interpersonal relations.
1. Low sex drive
The term “Low Sex Drive” means a lot of different things to different men. When considering whether you experience this, ask yourself how much your brain tells you that having sex would be a nice thing. How often do you think of sex? Do the same things that used to arouse your mind still do it for you?
At Perpetual Beauty and Wellness, as part of the treatment of Low Sex Drive, we will help guide you through the process of getting your mind to a better place. We believe that checking testosterone levels is important for any critical drop over time. Some men suffer from a syndrome know as Andropause, that results from low testosterone and can benefit from testosterone therapy.
Many men however, complain of Low Sex Drive but actually have normal testosterone levels. Studies have shown that by improving sexual performance in other ways, often Low Sex Drive corrects itself.
2.Testosterone Deficiency
More and more Victoria Men have questions about Testosterone Treatment and/or Testosterone Therapy. And they wonder whether various symptoms they are experiencing could be related to low testosterone, and if they would be improved with Testosterone Treatment.
It is a natural process for the testicles to typically begin to produce less testosterone as men age. This occurs in all men to some degree, but men differ in the amount of the drop in testosterone levels. And men differ as well in how their body responds to a given decline in testosterone.
Please Note: We are seeing an increased interest from younger men looking to boost Testosterone levels. It is appropriate we do evaluate symptoms, and check blood levels of Testosterone accordingly, it is not a typical practice of Perpetual Beauty and Wellness to put younger men with normal or borderline Testosterone, on Testosterone replacement. Sexual symptoms following evaluation, and can usually be managed without hormone therapy. Also, the routine use of HCG and Aromatase Inhibitors is not part of the practice.
Truly low blood levels of testosterone typically result in a combination of symptoms which may include low libido (low sex drive), lack of energy, irritability, depression, poor concentration, loss of physical strength and decreased muscle mass. All of the mentioned symptoms can contribute in part to erectile dysfunction. This syndrome, in conjunction with laboratory findings of low testosterone, is often referred to as Testosterone Deficiency.
It is important to mention that the symptoms involved in testosterone deficiency can be quite vague and can overlap with many other conditions. These symptoms often also occur when our lives are too busy or stressful. This can complicate the diagnosis of Testosterone Deficiency.
At Perpetual Beauty and Wellness, the wellness counselors and physicians consider the possibility of Testosterone Deficiency when symptoms are present. They will take a complete medical history and perform a complete physical exam, and arrange laboratory testing for blood levels of testosterone.
3. Premature ejaculation
With an estimated 30% of men complaining of significant Rapid Ejaculation, and many more experiencing the problem from time to time. It is now the number one cause of male sexual concern and presentation. Most often, Erectile Dysfunction and Premature Ejaculation occur together.
Definition of Premature Ejaculation
Premature Ejaculation or Rapid Ejaculation can be described as ejaculation, which is uncontrolled, and occurs with minimal stimulation. It can occur before, during, or shortly after penetration. It can also be referred to ejaculation occurring before the man wishes. We know that Premature Ejaculation creates emotional distress.
How fast is too fast? There is no appropriate answer based on watching the clock. The answer depends on your feelings before and after sex, and also your sense of your partners feeling after sexual intercourse.
Premature Ejaculation Treatment (or Rapid Ejaculation Treatment) is a complex process. At Perpetual Beauty and Wellness, we believe that the approach needs to include changing behaviours as well as expectations. We prescribe behavioral exercises for couples to do during sex, and exercises men can do on their own. We often supplement these Premature Ejaculation Exercises with medications when needed. Some medicines actually delay orgasm and can help to improve things quickly while the couple goes through the process of the Premature Ejaculation Exercises to improve the situation long term.
Facilitating a better quality and longer lasting erection often helps make Premature Ejaculation Treatment more effective.
The physicians and support counsellor’s at Perpetual Beauty and Wellness understand well the impact this problem has on men and couples, and will work with you diligently to improve your situation by providing expert Premature Ejaculation Treatment at our practice.
4. Erectile dysfunction
Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is defined by the inability to achieve or maintain an erection firm enough to allow for satisfactory sexual relations some or all of the time. This is of course very relative. Everyone will have their own idea of what is satisfactory. Your partner’s opinion also counts for a lot.
In the early stages especially, there are varying signs of Erectile Dysfunction:
Morning erections less frequent or softer
More effort or concentration needed to get an erection
Ejaculation occurring quickly or with a softer erection
Difficulty maintaining an erection to complete intercourse, beginning with certain sexual positions, or with a change in position
Whether or not you feel your Erectile Dysfunction requires treatment, you should seek professional medical advice as soon as ED becomes evident to any degree, because this could be a sign of a more significant underlying medical issue. Conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart problems or vascular disease, are quite common and can directly impair erectile function. If untreated, these conditions over time often result in poor health outcomes and disability.
Regardless of any underlying physical cause of the Erectile Dysfunction, the emotional impact of this problem usually leads to even worse erections. Once a man is distracted by the prospect of losing an erection, or is thinking about “last time”, then he is likely to lose the erection again. This occurs even when the first episode of Erectile Dysfunction was just a fluke. Often treatment is beneficial just to get the confidence back
